The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

At Tiny Tribe Early Education, our educational program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – Belonging, Being and Becoming, Australia's national learning framework for children from birth to five years of age.

The EYLF recognises that the early years are the foundation for lifelong learning, development, and wellbeing. It supports educators to create meaningful learning experiences that are responsive to each child's unique strengths, interests, abilities, and cultural background.

Belonging

Children thrive when they feel safe, secure, loved, and connected. At Tiny Tribe Early Education, we strive to create a welcoming and homely environment where every child and family experiences a genuine sense of belonging. We build trusting relationships with children and work closely with families, recognising that parents and caregivers are children's first and most important teachers. By respecting each family's values, culture, and beliefs, we create a strong foundation for children to develop confidence and a positive sense of identity.

Being

We believe childhood is a special time to explore, discover, imagine, and simply enjoy learning. Through play-based experiences, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, develop friendships, solve problems, and express themselves creatively. Our educators thoughtfully plan environments that inspire exploration while supporting children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development. Every child is encouraged to learn at their own pace, celebrate their achievements, and build confidence in their abilities.

Becoming

As children grow, they develop the skills, knowledge, and dispositions they need for lifelong learning. Our educators intentionally support children's independence, resilience, communication, and critical thinking through meaningful experiences that prepare them for future learning and successful transitions to school. We believe every child is capable and competent, and we celebrate each step of their individual learning journey.

Learning Through Play

Play is at the centre of our curriculum because it is how young children learn best. Through play, children investigate ideas, solve problems, develop language, build relationships, and make sense of the world around them. Our educators carefully observe children's interests and use these as the foundation for planning engaging experiences that extend learning while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

Our Partnership with Families

Strong partnerships with families are essential to children's success. We value open communication and believe that when families and educators work together, children experience consistency, security, and the best possible outcomes.

We encourage families to:

  • Share their child's interests, strengths, and goals.

  • Participate in centre events and learning experiences.

  • Celebrate family traditions, cultures, and languages with our community.

  • Engage in conversations about their child's learning and development.

  • Work alongside educators to support each child's individual journey.

Safe, Inclusive and Respectful Learning

At Tiny Tribe Early Education, every child has the right to feel safe, respected, heard, and valued. Child safety and wellbeing are embedded in everything we do. We create inclusive environments where diversity is celebrated, children's voices are respected, and every child is empowered to participate with confidence.

The Five Learning Outcomes

Our educational program supports children to develop across the five EYLF Learning Outcomes:

  • Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity.

  • Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.

  • Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

  • Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners.

  • Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators.

These outcomes are woven into everyday experiences through play, intentional teaching, meaningful relationships, and interactions with children, families, and our community.

At Tiny Tribe Early Education, we are passionate about creating a nurturing environment where children feel they belong, are supported to be themselves, and are encouraged to become confident, compassionate, and lifelong learners. Together with families, we celebrate each child's unique journey and the joy of learning every day.
